Zutar and Nira
It was Zuzu’s cracking-out-of-the-egg day last Saturday, and I was restarting my attempt to draw him a present when Aephral poked me for a commission with the same thought. As fortunate timing had it, the planned picture grew and I got the help I needed with my references, too. Aephral paid his part for the commission, I carried the rest as my contribution to the present, and here we have the result. Aephral already had a great pose in mind, knew which outfits and symbolism to go with for the background, and I wanted that scythe added to round up the composition and counter balance the scythe moon of the background.
As a side note, for the stardust night sky in the background, I tried a few new PS approaches and had lots of joy trying out several dual brushes to really bring out the nebulas. Finishing touches in PS are like a waltz through the candy shop for me, from brushes, adjustment layers, and work with masks, as I used it to add final touches to parts with gradient overlays, such as the hair tips, streaks, and Zutar’s dual-colored horns. ^o^
Thank you lots for commissioning me, Aephral, and again, happy birthday, Zuzu!
